Informative, with highly useful resource links. So many wonderful ideas, I can’t wait to incorporate them into our daily life. 🙂
Before receiving this guide I felt that I had used up all my ideas of what to do with kids in the outdoors- especially this past year and a half during a pandemic. This guide gave us SO many new ideas of how to have fun outdoors. Highly recommended for seasoned outdoor families AND those new to exploring the outdoors.
We had fallen into a pattern with our outdoor play. Same things and the same places. This guide helps us mix things up and keep our kiddos excited to be outdoors more often and for longer periods of time. Worked great for our family.
This is a thoughtfully-compiled and detailed guide for families seeking to integrate more nature time into their lives. I love the ideas for not only going on big backpacking or camping adventures, but also how to spend more time outdoors during our daily, busy lives. Many of the ideas or concepts in the book were even fairly unfamiliar to me ("fall rut" being one example), and I realized that even as an adult who spends a great deal of time outdoors, I have a lot to learn!
My kids also love a good challenge, and having the pages of different challenges are great motivators for getting them outside. Not all of the suggestions and ideas are entirely applicable to us down in Texas (no one is cooking over a campfire in the summer here.... and we sadly don't get much snow), but it was fun to read what other families are doing, and scheming adventures to other regions in the U.S. where we can embrace the different climates and have outdoor adventures that are new or different for us.
This guide contains so many ideas of ways to have even more fun in the outdoors. So often I get in a slump of "lets just go hiking" which my kids get so bored of. The guide is full of really fun activities - things that I would NEVER think of on my own! Truly a great resource.
